26/02 : Welcome to NSoS.co.uk!
Who are we?
As a completely self-funding, non-profit community band, The Nottingham School of Samba has been playing at festivals, carnivals, and local venues as well as many fund raising events, regularly over the past 15 years.
Our sound derives from the traditional roots of Afro-Brazilian rhythms, blended with a smattering of reggae, ragga and funk.
You may have seen us last year in Stealth, Rescue Rooms, Malt Cross, Oldknows Studios or the Social. If you have, you will know that we are enthusiastic, happy folks who love performing live!
Come and have fun with us!
Beginners are welcome at any Monday practice session! We welcome new players of any level. I you want to join us, please be at the Art Organisation (Station street, Nottingham) at 6:45pm every Monday. Someone will be there to welcome you. You do not need to have your own instrument as we will provide it.
Note about gigs
In order to be able to play gigs with us, you will need to sign up for a yearly membership. The fee is £20 for workers and £10 for students and non-workers. This is mainly for insurance purposes.
We hope to see you very soon!
