Welcome to Nottingham School of Samba!

We’re a community band for people who love percussion. Our music and style is Afro-Brazilian, mashed up with East Midlands roots. If you love percussion we want to meet you. There’s always a place in our group - whatever your ability. And if you want to hire us, we're arranging our gig list for 2009.

If you want to come down and meet us, chat about a gig, or even join in a practice, we currently meet Monday evenings at the Art Organisation on Station Road - handy for the Bus, Train or Tram. Our dancers are at the same location too and they meet on Tuesdays and are always keen for new members. (You can Click the map opposite for a bigger version!)
We’re getting quite organised, but we have to be, because the group is growing. There’s a lot to running a Samba band, more than just hitting drums.  Please forgive disruption to this website as we continue to make improvements and enhancements.

Want to know about hiring us or upcoming gigs?  Then email our gig coordinator, she's there to help.

Got general questions?  Then drop us a line, we'd love to hear from you.

Shake Your Stuff
Festival season is upon us and we’re gearing up for The Nottingham Caribbean Carnival 4th & 5th July 2009.  From now until then we’re having extended dance sessions on Thursdays, 7-9pm and we need you to come join us and shake your stuff.

If you would like to be part of our lovely Samba community as a Samba dancer please contact: the ever-enthusiastic Sarena by email
